RECIPE: BULLETPROOF COFFEE, INSTANT ENERGY
Paleo diets, stone age diets and primal gastronomy, buzz words in the diction of healthy eating that you may have heard of. The paleolithic diet (also known as the stone age diet) is one that is based on foods presumed to be available to paleolithic humans. Fruits, nuts, roots and meats are common staples in the stone age diet whilst dairy products, grains, sugar, processed oils, salt and alcohol are generally avoided.
I must admit that I can definitely latch onto the idea of making healthy food using raw ingredients such as nuts and meats, however, not being able to eat corn products and sweets sways my faith in the whole idea! With this said, there is one tendency within the paleo diet that I am a big fan of:
Bulletproof Coffee!
I’m the sort of person who needs a strong cup of coffee to start my day. Quite simply, I do not function before I’ve got my morning coffee fix. My experience with bulletproof coffee was that it gave me a huge morning energy boost that lasted long and kept me in a positive, sharp state of mind.
So What Exactly is Bulletproof Coffee?
Bulletproof coffee consists of standard coffee, ghee (or unsalted butter) and coconut oil. I personally prefer to use organic ghee for this recipe.
This terrific trio of energy boosters are the dynamite skeletal structure that give bulletproof coffee its hallmark qualities as an energy bomb. The high energy content of bulletproof coffee means that you can easily drink it as a substitute to your breakfast.

The fat, coconut oil and caffeine combination can give an energy boost that lasts up to 6 hours. Moreover, its ingredients also prompt your body to burn fat. As such, it is an ideal weight loss supplement.
The Bulletproof Coffee Recipe
To make bulletproof coffee, you will need a good blender and the following ingredients:
- 1 cup of strong, freshly brewed coffee
- 1-2 teaspoons of organic ghee
- 1-2 teaspoons of organic coconut oil
If you do not have a blender, fear not, you can still make bulletproof coffee by mixing the ingredients in a tall glass and stirring thoroughly using a whisk or, if all else fails, a fork.
Once thoroughly mixed, the creamy, latte-looking drink is quite simply, an energy bomb waiting to explode.
Tip: If you are not an avid coffee drinker, trade the coffee in this recipe for tea. I can recommend green tea as a substitute due to its nourishing effects on the body.
